If you Google “most romantic couples trip” a million options will show up – here’s how to narrow it down based on your month of travel!
January
Hawaii. Choose from any of the islands including Oahu or Maui. The temperatures will still be balmy and Hawaii is an excellent retreat from the mainland in January. Prices will be much cheaper than if you travel over Christmas, and the islands empty out around January too. From waterfall chasing, to poke tasting – the Hawaiian islands have it all.
February
Fiji. Fiji is one of the most romantic couples trips EVER, but is especially enjoyable over Valentine’s Day! It’s one of the places in the world that’s always full of honeymooners, and February is a great time to visit because it is considered the low season. This means lower prices and less crowds joining you on the warm sandy beaches!
March
Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is a fabulous beach destination year round, but in March it’s not too rainy or crowded so you can have plenty of space to yourselves on the stunning Caribbean beaches.
April
Belize. April is one of the best months to visit Belize because you’ll still be in the dry season, but it’ll be after any spring breaker’s have left the country. That means you’ll have long sandy stretches of beach to yourselves, making Belize the most romantic couples trip for April.
May
California. Depending on where you live, this may be more of a stay-cation for you – or even a local road trip! The weather in California is beautiful in May, and there’s tons to explore – from beaches, to vineyards, to forests, to camping, to theme parks. California has something for every type of couple to enjoy.
June
Greece. Greece is probably the most romantic couples trip we have ever been on. Island hopping, watching the crystal waves of the Aegean, the heat of the sandy beaches, delicious food and wine…Greece has everything you need for an amazing couples trip. June is a great time to visit because all the ferries will be up and running at this time, and the seasonal restaurants will be in full swing as well.
July
Iceland. Iceland is a beautiful and romantic couples trip idea. July is a great time to visit because you’ll have the most daylight, which means more time to explore. It also tends to be a little warmer in the summer – though definitely still pack layers, as we found it quite chilly! All the more reason to cuddle up together.
August
Bali. Though we visited in April, we got extremely lucky in terms of the weather and didn’t have too much rain. Due to Bali’s location the rainfall can be a bit of a problem and can ruin your beach vacation – the driest month in Bali is typically considered to be August.
September
London and Paris. September is the perfect time to visit London because the temperatures will still be relatively warm, but schools will have started so major attractions will be less busy. There are tons of amazing and romantic things for couples to do in London (champagne on the London Eye, anyone?) and we think this would be an awesome couples trip for September. Paris (and the entire country of France) is an iconic couples trip and one we’ll remember forever.
October
New Mexico is the perfect couples trip destination for the month of October. During the first two weekends of this month, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is in full swing. This means hundreds of hot air balloons ascending into the clear, sunny blue skies over Albuquerque. It’s also a great time of year to go hiking in the Sandia Mountain Range as it’s not too hot. You’ll also be treated to the delicious smell of chiles being roasted around every corner during the fall. Cozy up with a cup of pinon coffee and enjoy.
November
Guatemala. The cobblestoned streets of Antigua make for a fairytale setting to wander around holding hands. Make your way to Lago Atitlan and treat yourselves to spectacular views across the lake all the way to the volcanos. Indulge in a clay massage together in the rainforest and connect in this beautiful and peaceful country.
December
Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is an amazing place to visit during the Northern Hemisphere’s winter months. It’s very close to the equator and the Southern and Western coasts are particularly sunny during this time of year. It’s also a great time to go whale watching in Mirissa!
